The multigenerational centers of the Primorsko-Notranjska region are the central social spaces operating in six locations in the region. They are the result of a five-year project aiming to support the inhabitants of the region to live a richer life through various activities. The Points of Power operate in six municipalities (Postojna, Ilirska Bistrica, Pivka, Cerknica, Loška dolina and Bloke). They represent places in the local community that bring people together, wellcoming spaces where they like to return. The program is based on gaining four key strengts to empower the individual: Awareness, Social Inclusion, Knowledge and Activation. It helps to make the individual more easily integrated into society. We have set up a rich program that varies from location to location, this contributes to the diversity and quality of the offer of different programs for users. In addition to workshops, lectures, gatherings, therapeutic groups for users, we also create community projects that help raise awareness and create greater integration of vulnerable groups into society at large. For this purpose, we will westablish an on-line bank of informal assistance (through which users will network, exchange knowledge and experience and at the same time save money). The five-year Multigenerational Centers project is funded by the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. Together, they will finance 575,000.00 Eur in the period 2017-2021.
The centers carry out various activities – lectures, workshops, etc., which are intended for all generations, and cover various topics – health, relationships, friendship, herbalism, nutrition, dessert preparation, foreign language courses, children’s morning creative care, morning exercise, yoga, meditations, active ageing programs. Participants spend quality time, gain new knowledge, get to know each other, socialize and thus make new friendships. In our centers you can drink a cup of coffee, socialize, improve foreign language skills or learn Slovene, you can learn about relationships, parenting, intergenerational support, and above all, create new friendships.
